Summer 2018 has seen Hollinwood Academy’s first GCSE cohort receive their results. We are immensely proud of all the pupils who came to collect their envelopes today and the smiles, shocked faces and happy tears spoke volumes. We are delighted to announce that all the pupils passed their exams and met their expected grades, with some even exceeding these – an amazing achievement!
The pupils and staff have worked so hard during their time at Hollinwood Academy and the support from parents has been incredible. The progress that our young people have made has been unbelievable – not only have they achieved academic success today, they have also succeeded in overcoming so many barriers and are a credit to themselves, their families, our school and community.
We had pupils who prior coming to Hollinwood Academy did not attend school, had significant gaps in their learning and some who struggled with mental health issues. With the right learning environment, help and support these young people have flourished, showing the true meaning of our mission statement, ‘Learning together, learning for all, learning for life.’ These results represent the next step in our journey to making Hollinwood Academy a truly outstanding school.
The pupils who have left Hollinwood Academy are now successfully moving on to their chosen college courses and we wish them all luck on the next stage of their educational journey. It has been a pleasure having you all at Hollinwood Academy, please keep in touch and let us know how you get on!
