Welcome to the final blog of 2017! It’s scary to think how quickly the weeks go by and the end of the year is reached. On Tuesday we saw another wonderful performance of the Nativity by all our Primary children, with Mr Lawton’s Communication Group making a special appearance as shining stars. I was blown away by all our young people – many of them would never have been able to get up and speak in front a theatre full of people before, I am so proud of them all. I have had the pleasure of seeing a sneak preview of the wonderful DVD that will be available for you all to watch at home – if you have not yet ordered your copy, please click here.
The festive fun didn’t end with the Nativity, we also had a wonderful ‘Christmas dinner day’ on Wednesday which all our pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed..
I must say that Alison and the team in the canteen did a fantastic job..
There have been lots of festive activities taking place around school. Miss Shin’s class have been very busy making some lovely gingerbread men..
..and some special sparkly snow cloud dough..
Miss Gordon’s Nurture Group have also been hard at work in the kitchen..
..and in Science..
..as have Mrs Potts’ class – just look at what they got up to with Mr Fieldhouse in their last lesson!!
Mrs Needham’s Maths group had an exciting lesson too as they successfully constructed their first new lego robots..
The whole school has been getting into the festive spirit..
..including our naughty Christmas Elf who has been up to more mischief again this week, although thankfully he was on his best behaviour when he visited Mr Rawson’s class and showed the children how good he can actually be when he tries. It was a different story for Miss Meadows, though..
This week KS3LMS were invaded by a naughty Elf! He was Santa’s naughty little helper and he destroyed our classroom! There were tables overturned, papers everywhere and he even wrapped our adopted Elephant! That naughty little Elf!
We decided that we should write a job description for a new Elf and it was great! We have also been incredibly lucky this week as we have had a special visit from Santa! We got to read our opinion writing of why we were the best Elf for the job and we even received some presents, although the naughty Elf put us all on the naughty list!
Miss Parkinson’s class came in on Wednesday to find that someone had rearranged their tables and decorated their classroom with paperchains and snowflakes! It didn’t take them long to realise someone had been in our classroom…it was ‘Selfie’ the Elf! He had got himself tangled up in a paper chain and was hanging from the ceiling!
The children loved their visit from Selfie and wondered what mischief he had got up to the next day…
The Naughty Elf also visited Miss Rudge’s Art room on Friday and made such a mess! He had poured paint and glitter on the table and signed his name! KS3ZRE were fabulous and worked together to right his wrongs! What a team!
On Friday we had lots of fun in our Christmas jumpers and we managed to do our Santa Stroll! I had lots of fun walking around and having a sing song with our primary and secondary children. I really do not know why they found me funny!
A big well done to Harrison for collecting so many sponsors and raising so much money for the Santa Stroll!
