Well, I thought last week was busy but this week has been filled with even more! I am going to keep my bit short and let our staff tell you what the children have been up to….
Miss Rudge and 8 pupils from Hollinwood Academy have been involved in the Summer Show, Aladdin and Jasmine, at New Bridge and they took part in the eagerly awaited performances this week. Here’s what Miss Rudge had to say..
What a show!
The Hollinwood cast and I are still buzzing about the show and although we’re a little tired, we can’t wait for next year already!!! I’ve been asked several times what the next show is…but I’m still finding glitter all around my house from this one! Ha ha! I’m so unbelievably proud of our young people and I even shed a little tear, bursting with pride, on the last night (don’t tell anyone will you, hee hee!)
Our young people are a credit to us all and have worked so hard over the past year. They have given up lunchtimes to rehearse, offered suggestions for costumes and props and remained so smiley throughout. To say I’m proud is an understatement. The difference in the confidence of our performers from September is unbelievable and I am genuinely blown away by the talent, commitment and conduct of each and every one of them. Neive, Ciara, Danny, Shaun, Raihan, Macauley, Lewis and Karl…well done!! Miss Rudge has a little surprise for you on Monday!
This afternoon I went and presented some of my special Head Teacher’s Awards to these pupils and, of course, to Miss Rudge who has worked so hard supporting our young people through something so amazing. If you would like to order a DVD of the performance filmed and produced by the Digit4ll students at New Bridge, please click here.
Also in Miss Rudge’s class it was Ollie’s 12th birthday – Happy Birthday, Ollie! Ollie was one of the first 50 pupils who came to Hollinwood and it has been lovely to watch him grow and develop. The class celebrated by enjoying each other’s company in soft play and had a great time – they even had teamed races and had so much fun!
Over to Mrs Dunsdon’s class who went off to spend Thursday at Daisy Nook Park. They took a picnic and you can see they had an amazing time..

Next week sees the end of the academic year – it has flown by. We have some great things planned for this final week and I am especially looking forward to eating more ice cream on Monday when I help take Miss Parkinson’s class to the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm. I can’t wait. We also have our Primary Sports Day on Wednesday and Sports Day for the rest of the school on Thursday. Let’s hope the weather is good for us.
We also said goodbye today to Mr Bloska, our fabulous Music teacher, who is sadly leaving us – we wish him all the best and made him a special card to tell him..
I hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Jaina
