Welcome to the final blog of this term. This last week has been very busy, with Super Learning Day and another successful coffee morning. Our Super Learning Day had a fun filled focus on Easter and our Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils had a wonderful time creating their own Easter Bonnets..

In the afternoon we all gathered together and had an Easter Bonnet Parade..

Our Key Stage 2, Secondary and AB4 pupils enjoyed creating interesting egg models such as ‘Susan Boiled’ and ‘Egg Sheeran’..

..and made some beautiful Easter cards and delicious Easter treats..

As part of the Super Learning Day fun, Activ8 Key Stage 5 pupils ran some fun games for our Primary pupils to take part in..

Mr Davies’ class were very studious and created some informative leaflets about the reasons why Easter is celebrated..

Friday saw us host a very successful and well attended Coffee Morning. It was great to speak to parents and see how many of our families could come along and share in the activities that had been set up by the classes. There was a lot of chocolate cake and biscuits eaten and teas and coffees drank. Thank you to all those families who came along, it was wonderful chatting with you..

This week I have asked Mrs Potts and Miss Louden to share with you what they have been up to. Let’s start with Mrs Potts’ class:

In History we have been looking at Henry II and Thomas Beckett..

In Living Skills with Mrs Lund, the class have been carrying out role play in banks and shops using pretend money..

In Art with Miss Rudge the class have been drawing self-portraits using transferring skills..

They have been looking at world maps in Geography with Mr Hanif and identifying features on a map..

In Science with Mr Fieldhouse they did an experiment to calculate what speed they were doing on a scooter outside school over a set distance..

During Super Learning Day the class decorated hard boiled eggs with the theme of “Eggemon”, each egg was a Pokemon character..

..and then we made Cornflake Nests ready for Coffee morning..

Miss Louden’s class wanted to share what they have been learning this week..

In English this term we have been looking at the story ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’. The children have written diary entries and enjoyed taking part in role play..

In Science we have been learning about the life cycle of a plant and what plants need to grow..

Also this week Mrs Halkyard’s class and Mr Rawson’s Nurture Group went off to Liverpool to find out more about the Titanic. It was great to hear how well behaved all the children were and that they could answer lots of questions about their learning..
