On Monday we had our staff INSET day that was extremely successful and ‘virtual’ for all.
As we finish for the first half term of Spring it is important to reflect on the last few weeks while looking to the future.
This week was Children’s Mental Health Week and this year, more than ever, we all need to focus on our mental health and support each other.
On Monday I received two fabulous e-mails that make me extremely proud to be the Head at Hollinwood Academy.
I can’t believe we are at the end of week three already and so much learning has taken place both remotely at home and in school.
I must start my blog this week by commending our KS4 students who have amazed me this week as they started their MOCK exams amidst this global pandemic and lockdown.

I always take great pleasure in welcoming all students and staff back to Hollinwood Academy after any holiday.
WOW! What an amazing and fun filled week to finish the first term off with. I am not going to lie, I will be glad to see the end of 2020!! What a year we have all had.
This week there has been a real sense of ‘community spirit’ in and around school from our new sensory garden, Mahdlo Christmas family boxes, art, book and Tesco donations.
The corridors have been unusually quiet this week especially at Primary but the students and staff have been getting into the full swing of Christmas.
