Hollinwood Academy opened its doors in September 2015. It is a member of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, part of the New Bridge Group, an organisation for children and young people who have additional needs, under the leadership of CEO, Graham Quinn.
In addition to the new Hollinwood Academy, the Group consists of the following organisations:
- Future Finders Employability College
- Hawthorns School
- New Bridge School
- New Bridge Horizons
- Spring Brook Academy
- The Springboard Project
The school has been built next to New Bridge School, Roman Road, Hollinwood with the aim of increasing the levels of achievement and opportunities afforded to children and young people aged 4 to 19 years of age who are on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties. Given the right support and environment these children and young people can go into further and higher education, and employment.
This state of the art building provides up to 140 places and includes bright, attractive classrooms, on-site retail units (training shops), a purpose built ball hall and large indoor soft play centre, all of which will be available for community use. With being on the same campus as New Bridge School, Hollinwood Academy also has access to their excellent facilities which include a swimming pool, theatre and recording studios. The combined facilities at both schools allows pupils and students to fully explore their talents and shine in those areas they most enjoy.
At the heart of the Multi Academy Trust’s mission, “Learning together, learning for all, learning for life,” is the belief that all young people, whatever their background or ability, will be successful and valued.
The curriculum and philosophies of the New Bridge Group provide opportunities for academic and social development to enhance life opportunities. Classes are small and teaching staff work closely alongside support staff to provide the very best learning experience through tried and tested, creative and innovative approaches.
We are extremely proud of the Group’s achievements to date with regards to our learners and the expertise, dedication and commitment of our staff, as well as expanding facilities and our reputation for providing an outstanding education to pupils from Oldham and its surrounding boroughs.
Our website will provide key information, curriculum insight and news on the school. It will also act as a valuable resource to pupils and parents/carers alike, keeping everyone involved and up-to-date.
On behalf of the New Bridge Group, we look forward to working together with pupils, families and the local community. For further information please contact us by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone: 0161 883 2404
